    This will be news to some, not least those who argued that his presence in South Africa showed that good relations between those departing and those remaining could be maintained.
    The position of Bishop Kajiwara of Japan also seems unclear.
    The friendly tone of much of the Ad Clerum is in stark contrast to the cheap remarks of Bishop Marsh in his address to his diocesan gathering in March (hastily deleted but I still have the relevant audio downloaded) in relation to Bishops Moyer and Campese.
