Here is Fr Aidan’s talk on the Future of the Church in England, which he gave here recently.
He sets the future of the Church in Europe in the context of theosis or divinisation, he has many interesting things to say about “Catholic” schools and the Tablet and quite a few other things.He has the wonderful gift of putting complex ideas into concrete and practical forms.
About Fr Stephen Smuts
Of course he means the future of the Roman Catholic Church, for the CoE is still the state church there. Fr. Nichols has such a command of the proper English! Oh my poor wee Irish brogue!
Btw, did he indite Vatican II, and Gaudium et Spes? And sadly, the European church and community (including the UK) is very far from theosis, in this our age of postmodernity.
