What mystery behind these magnificent ‘creatures of God’ – lost and bound in the annals of Eden; I can’t help but think…of the symbiotic relationship – of man and beast in that Paradisiacal Garden!
Thank you Fr. Smuts, for these and all of your photos…from ‘out of Africa’! A beautiful but wild and unforgiving world…an almost forgotten past/present – so different from my world…and yet, in some strange and primitive way…remotely reminiscent, yet interwoven…within our ‘civilized world’.
And thank you Margaret for your (always) spiritual and uplifting comments. It is a real blessing to have you as a commentator on this blog!

They look so photogenic. They’ve probably gotten used to people taking their pictures.
Actually not. I was very fortunate in that she came out of the bush and walked straight passed the car. The two males following her clearly only had one thing in mind… And they were all gone as quickly as they came.
