Arutz Sheva reports:
Europe’s Churches Becoming Mosques
Islam has risen, and is swallowing up Europe at an alarming rate Europe’s churches are being bought up and turned into mosques at the rate of up to 2 churches a week, reports Giulio Meotti, an Italian journalist, who wrote an article: Expose`: Europe Turns Churches into Mosques and appeared on Arutz Sheva’s Tamar Yonah Show.
“What we are seeing is the de-Christianization of Europe, and then the Islamification of it.” Meotti stated.
Rich Arab countries are investing in Europe and buying it up church by church, city by city, country by country. Meotti speaks about money from Arab oil-rich countries buying up Christian community centers, and turning them in to Muslim community centers. This trend has picked up speed and cannot be hidden anymore by European liberal leaders. Meotti breaks and exposes the silence that cannot be ignored. A must listen!
Also, ‘Dan, the Guy Who Works With Leftists’ joins Tamar and talks about the hypocrisy of the liberal left that stand for women’s & minority rights, yet supports unbridled Islamic growth, influence and power.

Time to wake up yet?

As I started reading this article, I wondered why an Israeli publisher should be interested in this particular piece of scaremongering. After all, in London’s East End, the same building in Brick Lane has successively been a Church for French Protestant immigrants, a Synagogue for Jewish immigrants and is now a Mosque for Bangladeshi immigrants.
I didn’t hear of anyone complaining when the church was sold to the Jewish community, nor when the Jewish trustees sold the building to the Muslim community – and rightly not. After all, the same Almighty God has been worshipped in the building by each successive community and that must surely be an improvement on turning it into a carpet warehouse, or any of the other secular uses to which redundant churches are sometimes put.
Then, I noted the nasty little comment at the tail end of the piece: “Is Islam the destiny for the world’s most affluent, relaxed and pacified societies which opted for self-liquidation? And will this decadent, semi-Islamicized Frankestein named “Europe” declare war on Israel?
Of course there are people in all European countries who are hostile to immigration and immigrants. In England, one does not hear them complaining about immigration from Australia, Canada, New Zealand or South Africa or even the USA. “They are our kith and kin”, they say – by which they really mean “they are white”. Rather like the Anglcan lady depicted in John Betjamin’s poem In Westminster Abbey-
“Gracious Lord, oh bomb the Germans. Spare their women for Thy Sake,
And if that is not too easy, We will pardon Thy Mistake.
But, gracious Lord, whate’er shall be, Don’t let anyone bomb me.
Keep our Empire undismembered. Guide our Forces by Thy Hand,
Gallant blacks from far Jamaica, Honduras and Togoland;
Protect them Lord in all their fights, And, even more, protect the whites”.
All this fuss about Muslims buying up redundant churches in reality comes from the same kind of people. Politically they tend to the right and I would suspect that very few of them are churchgoing. Our churches have become redundant precisely because the majority of the “White English” population has long since ceased going to church except for the “social rites of passage” – christenings, marriages and funerals.
Here is a UK Mosque Directory. There are about 1,000 in total – some converted from former churches – some purpose built. And yes, while Muslims are under 10% of the total population there are likely to be more Muslims in their mosques at least once a week than there are churchgoers in a CofE church. When Catholics were also discriminated against, they too were much more assiduous in their weekly worship than they are today.
Comment noted, but anyone who listens regularly to BBC Radio 4 will know how much Islam is promoted and Christianity derided. Europe is, of course, to blame for its policy of secularisation, but if our young people, whose lives have been blighted by drugs, alcohol and lack of moral guidance, turn to Islam as a respite from the politically correct desert which is on offer, will anyone be surprised?
I winced when I heard St Paul’s Cathedral being described as a museum, but the truth is always uncomfortable. When we suddenly find ourselves subjected to Sharia law, will we wake up to what has happened?
Islam is not a monolith. Just as there are some pretty unpleasant Christan sects, there are also some dreadful extremists in Islam. The norm, however, can be much better than people think.
To take an example, I have lived and worked in Algeria and visted frequently since. The right of Christians to take holidays with pay on all the major Christian religious festivals (eg the Immaculate Conception, the Assumption etc) is enshrined in Labour La\w and rigorously observed.
That country has had some terrible experiences with extremists – so much so that on two of my vists I was provided with an armed escort thoughout my stay. Happlly things are returning to normal.
The great basilica of Notre Dame d’Afrique has been beautifully restored in a collaborative project sponsored by the Wilaya (Department) of Algiers and the Archdiocese of Algers with help from both sides of the Mediterranean.
Since you are a Radio 4 listener, the reopening was covered in “From Our Own Correspondent. in December 2010 I’m sure you will be able to find it Some quotes:-
“Often, he tells me, Muslims come to the church to light candles. “It’s a place which has brought greater tolerance among the different communities here,”
The walls are lined with marble tablets, thanking Our Lady for her prayers for a brother, a father, a grandmother – many of them Muslims, not Catholics.
In one far corner, where the ground slopes steeply down to the sea, past an old French cemetery and a football stadium, two men are standing smoking cigarettes. They are drivers, waiting for their employers to emerge. I ask one of them, Mehdi Helelchi – a Muslim, of course – what he makes of the grand re-opening. “She is very beautiful,” he says. “They’ve done a great job restoring her. We’re so proud of her.”
As I leave the cathedral, I look up at the original words inscribed in blue and gold above the altar: “Notre Dame d’Afrique priez pour nous et pour les Musulmans” – “Our Lady of Africa, pray for us and for the Muslims.” And then, sitting at a pew at the back of the church, I notice a woman saying a prayer. She is wearing a chador, one of the traditional head coverings for Algerian Muslim women.
The bigger threat is atheism. What threat would Christianity pose Islam, when it is falling apart and under attack by its own children and grandchildren? What light shines when doubt and disbelief obscures it?
Hence, atheism must be destroyed, and atheists must be turned; or else, I would start learning Arabic and hide my religious images.
The greatest threat to the West and Christianity today is simply Radical Islam, of this there can be no doubt! And this is always both in ideology and in living and life, and sharia law will simply never work in western and free society!
But, regard with horror the millions killed by the atheists who have wrested legitimate authority from God-fearing men in the space of 100 years! Muslims still has the gift of Faith, which cannot come from anywhere but from God; yet, because of their blasphemous denial of the divinity of Christ, I do not disagree that Islam, not just radical, but as a whole, is a threat- I am firmly of the belief that before any resistance is made against Islam, Christianity must first be resolutely united or we will fall one by one; Just look at the Christian churches in Iraq and Syria! Look at the imperiled Churches of Lebanon and Constantinople; we would do well, when we are not divided against each other.
Yet the tumor, so to speak, is atheism, because the godless mentality prevents Western government and the people supporting those governments to act towards the care of fellow Christians- instead there is praise of useless celebrities, false technological, man-made idols, and vain praise and gossip of celebrities and their hedonistic and idiotic lives, as well as idolatrous politics. Imagine, if the West is united in supporting Israel, and instead of protesting and rebelling against legitimate authority, godless guttersnipes would voluntarily join armed resistance against those who are a threat against the Judeo-Christian civilization?
This cannot happen, so long as there is atheism and secularism in the West. It cannot happen so long as the West is on a fast collision course towards its own doom as it contracepts and aborts and supports sodomitic pseudogamy until it consummates its long demographic and spiritual suicide. Then, it would be too little, too late. Everything done by Christian men throughout history would’ve been for nothing. Maybe this is God’s Will, but I know that the Christian Faith is the One True Faith, and we must witness to it in any way we can.
I am speaking of the reality and growth of Islam in the world also. And Radical Islam is always not far away in any Muslim country! The numbers are staggering in the growth of Islam today! Myself I feel (as Joel Richardson’s book: Mideast Beast, etc.) that the Antichrist could be a Muslim? One thing is certain, Modern Israel will certainly be attacked by Muslim enemies in the eschatological end, (Ezek. 25…”Edom” / Zech. 14: 1-2, etc.) Also faith is a “gift” of God, In Christ (Eph. 2:8), and no Muslim has this!
I attribute the growth factor of Islam to their traditional outlook on familial values, i.e. not treating families and children as if they’re a curse, and the avoidance of worshiping the self, the ego, and calling it “individualism”- they understand the role of God in their lives and in society.
I believe that Western Christendom used to be family-oriented, before we became too fixated on having “Our own life”- this may be the reason why the community of Christians have deteriorated, being strangers in our own Churches, rather than thinking of fellow Christians being actual, potential extended family. While the Islamic “Ummah” is still a strong concept for Muslims, where is our concept of Christendom? It is strongly gnawed upon by modernist concepts of “Nationalism”, of “Secularism”, of “Feminism”, of “Cultural” or “Sexual” revolutions, as well as the switch to a subjectivist worldview among many other things.
Traditional conservatism would have upheld the Church, its teachings, the proper role of authority and members of society, and so forth. I’d venture to trace all this mess back to the “Enlightenment” or earlier, but there’s no point of pinpointing where it went wrong, so long as there is now something wrong and that we ought to do something about it soon. Just what, is the question. (Other than prayer and fasting.)
@ Ioannes

Perhaps very fortunately, I do not think that the writer has the gift of prophecy. Nor is the theology sound. Muslims believe in the same God as we do – therefore they have the gift of faith. Not the fullness of Catholic understanding – but then there are lots of Christians who do not have that (as well as many Catholics).
@Mourad: YOU just simply don’t see nor understand the Biblical Gospel! And without “faith” in Christ, there is simply no salvation! Again, it is Eph. 2: 8! The Holy Scripture does trump what “we” think! And Muslims simply miss (hate?) the Triune God!
@ Mr. Mourad
Of course. There can only be One God, no other. All else that draw worship to itself, away from God is of Satanic inspiration. Hence, the great and true threat is the contemporary rebellion and rage against God, this perverse apotheosis of the human being, and the determined assault on His Church and all of humanity on every level.
