When was Jesus Ordained a Priest?

Via The New Theological Movement:
No one takes this honor upon himself but only when called by God, just as Aaron was. In the same way, it was not Christ who glorified himself in becoming high priest.
While St. Paul, in his Letter to the Hebrews, generally distinguishes our Savior from Aaron (showing that the priesthood of Christ is greater than that of Aaron), in this place the Apostle emphasizes this point of similarity between the Levitical priesthood and the eternal priesthood of Jesus.
Namely, St. Paul tells us that, just as Aaron was called and ordained a priest, so too was our Lord. For no man can be a high priest of himself, but only when he is so called by God.
When, we ask, was Jesus called and ordained to the priesthood? When did he become a priest?
The answer here.

This Catholic article sounds good, but biblically and theologically: “So also Christ did not glorify Himself so as to become a high priest, but says also in another passage, “You are a priest FOREVER ACCORDING TO THE ORDER OF MELCHIZEDEK.” (Noting, Ps. 110: 4 / See too Heb. 7:1-3, etc. “For it is evident that our Lord was descended from Judah, a tribe with reference to which Moses spoke nothing concerning priests. And it is clearer still, if another priest arises according to the likeness of Melchizedek, who has become such not on the basis of a law of physical requirement, but according to THE POWER OF AN INDESTRUCTIBLE LIFE.” For it is attested of Him, “You are a Priest Forever According to the order of Melchzedek.” (Heb.7: 14-17, etc., see to the end of the chapter… “For the Law appoints men as high priests who are weak (as the Law, verses 18-19), but the word of the oath, which came after the Law, appoints a Son, made perfect forever.” (28) Wow, unpacking Biblical Theology, sometimes just speaks for itself!
No doubt, Jews will object to us calling Jesus -the- High Priest, and considers this an attack against the Kohanim and the Levites. No wonder Jews spit at our clergy in Jerusalem. And no wonder a Mosque now stands in the ruins of their Temple.
Wow, this attitude is simply bigoted, yes the Jews missed their Messiah and their history has been harsh, but some Jews, especially some of the Rabbi’s today consider Jesus to have been a great prophetic person. Yes, this is still not enough, but God will have His covenant people in the end! And how can we not love the people of our Lord’s Incarnation! (Rom. 9: 4-5) Ya know mate, you really do need to read your Bible, especially the OT!
I may be bigoted, but I’m not wrong. Christianity is the inevitable destiny of the faithful Jew; if they deny it, they only have hollow customs and traditions to cling to. Why? Because without the animal and cereal sacrifices offered to God in the long-gone Temple, (also missing the Ark of the Covenant too.) there is no “Judaism” or rather, the religion of the Hebrews as practiced by Abraham no longer exists- it has taken the final stage in Christianity.
The New and Everlasting Covenant has abolished all animal and cereal sacrifices. There will be no other. Our Perfect Temple, Holocaust, and High Priest is Jesus Christ.
YOU need to read your OT with the New, and New back into the Old! Israel is still under Covenant, and God will fulfill their covenants, i.e. National Israel! (Rom. 11: 25-29) And try reading the whole Book of Zechariah, especially chapter 14! (Note, Zech. 8: 11)
And btw, note that Irenaeus of Lyons was Historic Premillennial, as many of those early so-called Fathers! The Millennial Kingdom will fulfill and manifest National Israel in and under the Kingship and Kingdom of Jesus Christ! (Hosea 3: 4-5)
