The bloggers are rehashing the Archbishop John Hepworth situation today:
- Fr Anthony Chadwick has seen it fit to publish a correspondence between the wife of a Fr James Shovanek and Bishop Botterill. Bishop Botterill on the TAC Tribunal.
- Mrs Deborah Gyapong who gets some mileage out of the above post with her: Insight into the charges against Archbishop Hepworth.
- And [UPDATE] Fr Ed Bakker with: The impact of Bishop Hepworth’s handy work, here.
The official TAC position (lest we forget in all the natter), a Statement from The Traditional Anglican Communion College of Bishops Re: John Hepworth, is here.

STATEMENT
The Tribunal of the Traditional Anglican Communion comprising Archbishop Samuel Prakash (India), Bishop Craig Botterill (Canada) and Bishop Brian Marsh (USA) on 6 October 2012 examined the charges brought by eight (8) Bishops against Archbishop John Anthony Hepworth under Section 10 of the Concordat of the Traditional Anglican Communion, and delivered the verdict that Archbishop John Anthony Hepworth was guilty as charged.
The following sanction was imposed:
1. THAT JOHN ANTHONY HEPWORTH, ARCHBISHOP, be, with immediate effect, permanently expelled from the COLLEGE OF BISHOPS OF THE TRADITIONAL ANGLICAN COMMUNION.
2. THAT all licences for any EPISCOPAL or PRIESTLY function within any affiliated church of the TRADITIONAL ANGLICAN COMMUNION, be with immediate effect withdrawn.
Charges under Section 6 of the Concordat are now being considered by the College of Bishops against Archbishop John Anthony Hepworth.

That is where we stand at present. There is nothing new to report as yet.

This reminds me of a Delft wall tile I once saw that had the following inscription: “Everybody talks about my drinking, but no one talks about my thirst”.
The other side of the coin is overlooked. What about the fruits of the Hepworth legacy?: Pillaged churches, members lost, alienated and confused, and above all, the many, many lies, resulting in ruined lives of many priests and laity alike?
Yes, by the fruits of your labour you will be known.
As a former Dutch Old Catholic I am familiar with the Delft tile. How true. Read http://www.revdedbakkeropr.blogspot.com I saw some of the fruits of plus John’s legacy.
There was another side of the coin of the Tribunal’s charges too, financial mismanagement ,
why is it that we dont hear a word about that.During the nineties I had a phone conversation with Laycanon Woodman, she told me that they were looking for $10.000, to fly to Canada, because they were broke. Enough said.

The fact that charges from section 6 are coming (hopefully), will evince this decision fully! At least one would hope? This is a Church decision, and not fully a court of law, btw. I am somewhat surprised actually that this church does not seem to want to invoke 1 Cor. 5: 3-13? It seems today that taking the authority of the Holy Scripture appears last place? Verse 11 and “covetous”, “swindler”, as to “financial mismanagement”.
And btw, we simply MUST note 1 Cor. 6: 1 here!
What is the outcome of the charges under Section 6 of the Concordat?
The silence is deafening!
I dont really approve of anon comment , otherwise you would have had a response from me.
If you have the courage to identify yourself , we can talk.
