Priests in Same-sex Relationships May Become Anglican Bishops

Well, there you have it:
(CNN) – Men in a civil union will now be allowed to become bishops in the Church of England, but they are not allowed to have sex.
Intercourse between two men – or two women – remains a sin.
“Homosexual genital acts fall short of the Christian ideal and are to be met with a call to repentance and the exercise of compassion,” according to Anglican doctrine.
Men and women in same-sex unions were already allowed to serve as priests in the Church of England, but there was a moratorium on advancement to the episcopate – becoming a bishop – while the church considered the issue.
The church announced Friday that if men in celibate civil unions may be priests, then there is no reason for them not to be bishops, as long as they are “living in accordance with the teaching of the Church on human sexuality.”

In other words, the ban on gay male clergy who live with their partners from becoming bishops has been lifted and that with some the flimsy conditions.

What a sad joke. How long will GOD allow this to continue? How long will the people allow this to continue? Are there no good Englishmen left? Have they all become dead of heart and spirit? Is there no morality left in the Anglican soul? One wonders.
This is just disingenuous. “Hey, it’s okay to be gay and to express it but no sex in the bum!

If sexual attraction is a part of an individual’s identity, then certainly, one must express it, or feel the need to express it. What sort of idiocy is it to acknowledge homosexuals and -their “partners”- but then expect them to be chaste? It’s like cohabitation. “Oh, we’re chaste.” But you’re still living in sin, playing house, and no sacramental basis for such a life.
And it gets worse with homosexuals and their partners. And priests.
Men are friends and brothers, not spouses or lovers. When they call it a “relationship” it is purposefully made ambiguous to validate sinfulness and allow acceptance from a widely heterosexual majority.
It is Satan’s same ole battle cry: “you will be like gods”! This is an inversion of the Truth–when GOD said: “Let US make Man in OUR Own Image”. In the Likeness of God we were made, but this?!…mal-forms God’s Image within us–making us rather resemble more the One who raised his fists against God–thereby, seeking to make God in our-own-sinful-sordid-image; seeking to please man rather than God; fear of offending man rather than God!!
When One plays with fire, sooner or later one will get burnt – except here, it is the ‘Fire of Hell’!!
