RIP, Rev Canon Anthony Morello

The Rev Canon Anthony Morello, Vicar General, ACA (TAC) Rector of All Saints, Fountain Valley and St Mary of the Angels, Hollywood has died.

From the Parish website:

With great sadness, the All Saints parish family announces that our Rector, The Very Rev. Canon Anthony J. Morello, Ph.D., passed away January 12, 2013,  after a heart attack.

May light perpetual shine upon him.

UPDATE:  A Message from Bishop Brian Marsh posted on 15/01/2013.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

It is my sad duty to inform you that Canon Anthony Morello, Vicar General of the Diocese of the West, died early today [Sunday, 13 January] from a heart attack. He died in Portland, Oregon, where he had gone on church business. His wife, Carolyn, was with him when he died.

Canon Morello had served his diocese and parish church exceptionally well. In recent years, his health was fragile. Nevertheless, he worked tirelessly to resolve issues at St. Mary of the Angels and in the Diocese of the West.

Please keep Carolyn and the Morello family in your prayers.

A Requiem Mass will be held at All Saints Anglican Church in Fountain Valley, CA at 4:00 pm on January 23.

Rest eternal grant him, O Lord, and may light perpetual shine upon him.

Faithfully,

+Bryan  [sic]

Poor priest! He who suffered much stress as a result of the iniquitous musings and open character slander of his person and vocation on the blogs of John Bruce. Are you now satisfied John? You really are a self-righteous sanctimonious excuse for a Christian!

One other thing: why are we reading about this priest’s (a vicargeneral) untimely demise on your blogs Father Smuts? He died three days ago but not a word from the ACA bishops (Marsh and Strawn)? Not a word from the Diocese of the West? The tAC? Many on the blogs (like Bruce) say you bishops are self-serving and heartless men. This all seems equally true. That or you are just plain bloody stupid.

This whole post says much about the silent majority.

    • Ioannes says:

Hey, not a shot from a gun was fired, nor a drop of poison was poured by his enemies. I’m sure that old man had a thicker skin than you would like to portray. Mean words would not have caused his heart to break.

This is the will of God, who is the Lord of Life. Fear His terrible might, and love His great mercy.

Let’s see the next person who will take control of St. Mary’s, and let’s see what God has in store for him!

    • Ioannes says:

Furthermore, it was not Anthony Morello who was expelled and barred from St. Mary’s- it is not he who had no place to go nor a place to worship; if it was mere words or stress that caused heart attacks, then why are John Bruce, Fr. Kelley, and many former parishioners of St. Mary’s still presumably alive?

Death is the ultimate truth of this world. We will all end up like Anthony Morello someday, and stand before our Judge, regardless of what everyone thought about us.

If you love Anthony Morello, pray for his soul. Earthly cares are behind him now.

It is right to pray for the dead.

  5. His name was included in the memento for the departed at Mass today in my chapel.

    Requiescat in pace

    • Patricia Morello Delukey says:

Thank you, Fr. Chadwick. I am Patricia Morello Delukey. My heart is broken over the loss of my brother. May he rest in eternal peace.

  6. Theresa says:

Fr. Morello, regardless of our opinion of him, was a man like us.
He is now closer to God and answerable to Him, as we shall be one day.

This talk of St. Mary of the Angels being cursed is utter nonsense.
The church was dedicated to the worship of God, and evil spirits have no claim on it.
Ask the Holy Spirit to deliver the parish from all evil … past, present or to come.

    Dear Brothers in Christ,
It is shocking News of the death of our beloved in the T.A.C. fellowship, the Late Rev. Canon Anthony Morello. I express my deep sorrow and pray to God Almighty to give Peace to the departed Soul. Please convey my sympathetic words to his family members and friends.
” Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth, give I
unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
    Sincerely yours in Christ

Fr Morello was a close friend for over 10 years. His loss brings deep sadness to myself and the vast number of those whose life he touched in a very positive way. I take a great exception to the blogs written by people like John Bruce who have no idea of what they are professing. I was with Fr Morello during a lot of the years that Mr Bruce claims knowledge of and it is NOT the Fr Morello I knew and loved whom he states all the “facts” of his. I truely hope people just take Bruce’s comments for what they are worth, and that wouldn’t be enough for a cup of coffee.

Fr Tony we will miss you!!
    Ken
