New Study Reveals Majority of American Cities Reject the Bible

A new study recently conducted by a well-known survey group reveals that the majority of America cities have little to no interest in the Bible.
As per the commission of the American Bible Society, the Barna Group has released the results of its study on the most and least “Bible-minded” cities in the nation. While some cities and regions of the nation were more “Bible-minded” than others, the nation in general ranked quite low. Out of the 96 cities that were surveyed for the study, 91 of them had very little Biblical interest.
The study is based on nearly 43 thousand interviews with citizens from across the nation.
“Individuals who report reading the Bible in a typical week and who strongly assert the Bible is accurate in the principles it teaches are considered to be Bible-minded,” the Barna Group explains, outlining how it came to its conclusions. “This definition captures action and attitude—those who both engage and esteem the Christian scriptures. The rankings thus reflect an overall openness or resistance to the Bible in the country’s largest markets.”

Not just “Cities” but many Christians reject the Bible when you get right down to it. Compare today’s Christian in America with one who did NOT reject the Bible in his day:

As I continue to research into our American education that has occurred over the past 100 years, I have discovered three things so far that were ousted from secular, public schools: history, philosophy, and any discussion on religion. It doesn’t leave much for comprehensive discussions and contextual and thoughtful…thinking. We have been claimed by some, in which case I agree, that we are ignorant of some very important elements of an education, which makes it difficult for us to have thoughtful discussions with other cultures.
Now with some Reconstructionists, our students are being given a history, but it is a history under the lens of Marxism, hatred of Europeans and Christian civilization, snobbery, and a misguided version of feminism. This is very ingrained and will be hard to amend.
One thing to keep in mind, however, when reading those stats are that the people who live in less urban areas have very different mindsets than those who live in our American cities. For some reason, urban decision making guides our education system even though this sort of education conflicts with most suburban and rural peoples. I have found that many English professors (even those who hate Christianity) are discouraged with the students’ lack of knowledge of the Bible in literary terms because the students are unable to see the many layers within literature since they no longer even know what a mustard seed implies. The professors lose the ability to even argue their own side because the students have no background on the professors’ main target. But, some students take that anger toward Christianity, however, and nothing else, without reasons to support their anger. It’s becoming quite odd.
Thank you for the post. And God bless…
