Peta Accuses New York Times of Necrophilia

The Creative Minority Report has more:

PETA, the animal rights organization that’s starting their own porn site, is accusing the New York Times of necrophilia for running this picture.

The Atlantic Wire has the quote:

When I saw it I just couldn’t believe that an editor of The New York Times would find it acceptable,” PETA’s founder and president Ingrid Newkirk told The Atlantic Wire. “It’s downright offensive, not just to people who care about animals but almost to everyone. It’s a plucked, beheaded, young chicken in a young pose,” she said….It’s necrophilia. It’s not amusing. It’s just ghastly and sickly. It’s not fitting for The New York Times.”

These crazies regularly advance their cause with naked celebrities and are starting their own porn site that will mix human porn and grisly pictures of dead animals. These folks mixing sex and death are accusing others of necrophilia?

‘Payback is Hell’

Sick, especially in light of yesterday’s local shark attack:

They are well known for their shocking adverts with some of the world’s most famous people posing naked to help boost their animal rights message.

But this time PETA may have gone too far with its latest campaign, which suggests those who swim or fish in waters containing sharks are attacked or killed as ‘payback’.

The new poster shows a shark eating a severed human leg and the blood-stained slogan ‘Payback is Hell’, which aims to shock people into turning vegan.

PETA say that in particular they hope it will make people rethink fishing, suggesting if people inflict pain on sealife they deserve it themselves.

This could be considered particularly offensive as a British man was yesterday left fighting for his life after he was attacked by a great white shark while swimming in the sea near Cape Town, South Africa. He has been named as Michael Cohen, who had lived in the country for a long time and had a number of his family members living nearby…

More here.

Why don’t they go out and convince sharks to go vegan?

PETA Uses Microwaved Baby Case as Billboard Inspiration

Despicable:

A national animal rights group is using a recent Sacramento case about a mother allegedly microwaving her child to death as the inspiration for an ad campaign. The billboard features the image of a person who is about to pop a pork chop into the microwave next to a picture of a mother pig with a piglet. It reads “Everybody’s Somebody’s Baby. Go Vegan.”

The idea’s not sitting too well with Sacramentans. “It’s not cool, it’s not cool,” said David Wilhelm. Ruth Santiago said, “Those are the types of things that open up a larger scale and then it turns into a big old huge mess and and they’re totally forgetting about the life that was taken.”

PETA says they are in negotiation with outdoor advertisers to put up this billboard “in the wake of Tuesday’s arrest of a Sacramento woman for allegedly microwaving her infant daughter”.

“If we think microwaving a human being is wrong, we should also consider whether or not cooking an animal is the right thing to do,” said Lindsey Rajt with PETA. “Every animal that was killed by the meat industry to be microwaved and eaten was someone’s baby at some point.”

Ka Yang faces allegations she put her 6-month-old child in the microwave and turned it on. The baby girl was found dead earlier this year. Yang admitted to Sacramento officers she had a seizure and dropped her baby on a space heater. However, investigators say that is not possible based on the burn marks, which they identified as being from a microwave.

Yang was assigned a public defender at a Thursday court hearing, she’ll be in court again on July 14th…

Capitalising on the horror of a baby being microwaved to death is totally unacceptable! Or as it is put on the blog Secondhand Smoke:

PETA is not about being nicer to animals. Rather, it is a profoundly anti human cult that equates the value of human lives with those of animals–and which literally believes that eating a pork chop is akin to murdering a baby…

PETA Pressures the Pope

The Huff Post Green reports:

Rome — An animal rights group has urged Pope Benedict XVI to “truly go green” and insist that the next popemobile is made without leather.

PETA said it has written to the pope with the request following the Vatican’s confirmation Wednesday that Germany’s Mercedes-Benz auto company is making a study of a hybrid, energy-saving popemobile. The car would replace the current Mercedes vehicle used when the pope travels abroad.

PETA spokeswoman Ashley Gonzalez says leather production is not only “toxic to the environment, it’s also hell for cows.”

The letter, which is dated June, 22 and also sent to The Associated Press, said PETA counts many Catholics among its members and suggested that a leather-free car could “help the environment and prevent animal suffering.”

The Vatican press office said Friday it hadn’t seen the letter and couldn’t comment…
