You Know Christmas Is Near, When Atheists Put Up Their Billboards

Nearly $40,000 was spent during the last Christmas season on a billboard war between atheists and Roman Catholics at the New Jersey entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel. But so far, this year’s version of the atheist billboard has failed to generate much of a fight.

The American Atheists’ new orange and black billboard, just to the left of the Lincoln Tunnel entrance on the New Jersey side, depicts four images side by side: a statue of the Roman god Neptune, a classical portrait of Jesus, a rosy-cheeked Santa touching his nose and a guy in a suit and a devil mask.

“37 Million Americans know Myths when they see them,” it says in smallish letters at the top. In large letters at the center, it asks: “What do you see?”

The purpose of the $25,000 billboard, which went up in mid-November, said David Silverman, the president of American Atheists, is to “call out” closet atheists during the holiday season and get them to be truthful about who they really are.

“This is when the closeted atheists go to church to be viewed as Christians, and this is when we want to call them out to stay home and enjoy the holidays,” he said. “We want people to realize that there may be atheists in their family, even if those atheists don’t even know they are atheists.”

Last year, their message to closet atheists was a bit more direct. A huge billboard in the same location depicted silhouettes of the Three Kings on horseback headed to the manger against a starry sky, framed by the words: “You KNOW it’s a Myth.”

It was so direct, in fact, that it inspired an anonymous 80-year-old Austrian man to call up the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, an organization based in New York, to offer to pay for a counter billboard. Hence the Catholic salvo, a billboard depicting the infant Jesus with Mary and Joseph that said: “You Know It’s Real: This Season, Celebrate Jesus.”

This year, the Catholic League is not going to respond, said Bill Donohue, its president. One reason? The atheists’ new billboard isn’t good enough, he said. (And, when they called the anonymous Austrian donor this year, he did not call back.)

Hospital Kills ‘Wrong’ Twin in Abortion, Both Babies Now Dead

Behold the horror of abortion:

An Australian hospital is investigating after staff accidentally terminated a healthy fetus instead of its twin with heart defects just over a month before a full-term pregnancy.

The incident at Melbourne’s Royal Women’s Hospital happened after the mother, who was 32 weeks into her pregnancy, had asked to have the unhealthy twin terminated after consulting with doctors.

After the mistake was discovered, the woman was forced to have an emergency caesarean section to terminate the unhealthy fetus, the newspaper the Australian reported.

State Health Minister David Davis said the hospital would conduct an independent investigation and that other government bodies may look into the matter.

He also suggested that the family at the centre of the mix-up could receive compensation.

“There’s no question that this is an incident that everyone would have preferred had not occurred,” Davis said, according to the Australian.

State Premier Ted Baillieu said the investigation would be as thorough as possible.

“I don’t think it’s appropriate for anybody to draw any conclusions other than this is a horrible tragedy,” he said.

The woman’s family issued a brief statement asking for privacy “at what has been a very difficult time for us,” the BBC reported.

Wicked, evil, and reaping the consequences thereof. Life is not ours to take!

Atheists Plan Billboard Campaign this Christmas Season

Proclaiming their gospel of nothingness:

“You Know It’s A Myth. This Season, Celebrate Reason,” was one tagline offered up on a billboard by the American Atheists organization one holiday season. The atheists intend to put up more billboards this year, some featuring images of Santa, Jesus, Poseidon and the devil next to the message: “37 Million Americans know MYTHS when they see them.”

How impious and frankly, quite uninspiring.

Robber Prayed with Disabled Victim

According to Police:

New Castle,  Pa. — Police say a man stopped to pray while robbed a woman in a wheelchair after breaking into her western Pennsylvania home.

Thirty-two-year-old Christopher Perretti II, of New Castle, is in the Lawrence County Jail awaiting a hearing on charges including burglary and robbery. Court records don’t list an attorney.

Police found him a short time later.

What was he thinking? That God would honour his prayer while he was engaging in evil? Such fallen and convoluted thinking. Crazy.

Michael Moore Jokes Jesus Was Gay

Blasphemer!

Speaking at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Friday, Michael Moore, as usual, dropped a few bombs. Even the “f” bomb.

“Sorry I said [the f-word] the first time. I didn’t realize I was in a church,” the filmmaker, wearing his trademark trucker cap, joked to an auditorium comprised of a few hundred students, faculty and news media.

The liberal filmmaker was invited to the Catholic school to discuss his book, “Here Comes Trouble.” But he also spoke at length about health care, young voters’ disenchantment with President Barack Obama and the need for the wealthy to pay higher taxes. He said affluent Americans “seemed happy” when their income was taxed at a higher rate (“60 and 70 percent”).

Moore, who was raised Catholic, used Christian themes throughout his speech. At one point he joked that Jesus was gay.

“You know those 12 men Jesus was always hanging out with? Mhm,” he said to laughter.

Moore made a few more provocative comments during the question-and-answer portion of his talk. When asked by a student, who said he was British, if a country can be considered “civilized” if it’s “legal to own an AK-47″ machine gun, Moore said no.

“If you want protection, get a dog,” he said.

Another student asked about the 2004 documentary, “Michael Moore Hates America” and why Moore declined to participate in it. Moore said he doesn‘t hate America and those who disagree with his political views don’t either.

“I assume [Republicans] love this country. I start with that assumption,” he said

Polish Singer Acquitted Over Bible-ripping

Ynet news:

A Polish court has found a singer in a heavy metal band, who tore up the Bible during a performance, not guilty of offending religious sentiments.

The judge ruled last week that the ripping of the holy book by Behemoth frontman Adam Darski could be defined as “artistic expression” consistent with his band’s style.

Darski, who uses the stage name Nergal as the Babylonian god mentioned in the Book of Kings, is a famous figure in his homeland. He ripped the Bible during a concert in northern Poland in 2007 and called on the audience to burn the pages.

He was already acquitted last year, but the prosecutors appealed the verdict.

What a wicked distorted individual.

There’s a video of him performing his evil deed here.

Stamina Pills for Men Made of Dead Babies

The Creative Minority Report brings us this appalling report:

A documentary set to air in South Korea tomorrow is alleging that Chinese hospitals are selling aborted babies and stillborn children to a drug company which is grinding them up and selling them as “stamina” pills for men, according to news reports.

Dr. Kyle Johnson sent CMR this story from that was originated by a Korean newspaper called the New Daily. I ran it through Google translation and Weird Asia News is now running a version of the story.

When the hospital has a deceased baby case, the staff, who are openly involved, are instructed to immediately  notify the medicine company.  The documentary team reveals the super secret process of how the Dead Baby Pill is made.

The medicine company stores these dead babies in a normal family’s refrigerator, so no one can find out.  Then, when ready to use, they put the dead baby in a medical drying microwave, also located in someone’s house.  Once dry, they grind it up and put it in the capsule.

At a very high price the documentary team got their hands on some of these pill and had them tested.

The results:  99.7% HUMAN

A documentary will air on the 6th of August in South Korea showing that test results found hair and nails.

No word yet on whether this pill has been experted to other countries.

How far can humans still fall?!

Glamorizing Pedophiles

I’m afraid so… Up Next: Glamorizing Pedophiles:

Mainstreaming  of pedophilia via pop culture continues

As some of us have been saying for  years…

Now a (gay) actor/ “role model” announces with delight that his new TV series features a cool new character:

It isn’t going to be watered down. It’s actually going to be darker,  bigger and bolder, and more dramatic. I mean, for goodness’ sake, we’ve  got a main character [played by Bill Pullman] who’s a pedophile! The  interesting thing about that is that the audience is going to be torn, because  they’re going to not like him for what he’s done — but they’re gonna  like him

Googling for Madness

Anders Behring Breivik absorbed all of his murderous ideology from the internet.

It wasn’t Christian fanaticism or right-wing fanaticism or even anti-Muslim fanaticism that drove Anders Behring Breivik, the man who slaughtered about 90 people in Norway on last Friday, into madness. It was Google.

Hungry for explanations why the 32-year-old detonated a fertilizer bomb that left eight dead in the heart of Olso and then shot dead about 70 more at a youth camp run by the Norwegian Labour Party on a nearby island, the media have been trawling through a 1500-page document that Breivik posted to his Facebook friends before his killing spree. He titled it “2083 – A European Declaration of Independence”.

It was a clever publicity stunt. Now his bizarre theories about the dominance of cultural Marxism, the failure of multiculturalism and the invasion of Islam are flying around the internet. He even created an FAQ about his personal life and program, including questions about his favourite beer, films and eau de cologne…

It’s an ill wind that blows nobody good. This calamity has been used to vindicate condemnations of right-wing politicians, opposition to Muslim migration and Christianity. But triumphantly plucking damning quotes from his 1500-page rubbish heap proves nothing.

Breivik was utterly inconsistent. He describes himself as a Christian, a Freemason and an Odinist (a revival of Scandinavian paganism). The two figures he most admires are Vladimir Putin and Benedict XVI. He budgets for an orgy with prostitutes to be arranged “just before or after I attend my final martyrs’ mass in Frogner Church.”

He speaks with the gravitas of both a theologian and a new atheist: “As for the Church and science, it is essential that science takes an undisputed precedence over biblical teachings. Europe has always been the cradle of science and it must always continue to be that way.” He rails against the destruction of family values and wants to implement a one-child policy in the developing world to save the environment.

The document has a hyperlinked table of contents with chapter headings and footnotes – all the paraphernalia of a scholarly article. But most of the material appears to have been copied and pasted from blogs and websites…

It has all been compiled with Wikipedia’s air of no-nonsense academic detachment, from its analysis of Muslim demography to description of how to purchase weapons for a mass murder.

In short, it is a 778,257-word demonstration that Google not only capable of  making us stupid, as Nicholas Carr argued in a famous article in Atlantic three years ago, but violent and full of hate…

Read the whole thing here. And from the conclusion:

… Surfing the internet gives you facts, not values to live by. You can only learn morality and self-knowledge through commitment and engagement with other people, not by googling. At a time when families are falling apart and many children are growing up without engagement with their parents, how many more Breiviks are out there?

Creepy and Evil Scientific Experiments

Extreme Evil Science:

The full title on the cover of the August issue of WIRED is

Extreme Science
7 Shocking Experiments That Would Teach Us So Much
(If They Weren’t So Wrong)

The cover tagline for the Aug 2011 issue is: Ethics, Shmetics

The article inside says that, “nurture vs. nature, the causes of mental illness, even the mystery of how humans evolved from monkeys. These discoveries are just sitting out there, waiting for us to find them, if only we were willing to lose our souls.” Why the article doesn’t exactly advocate doing them, it does say, “don’t pretend you wouldn’t like to learn the secrets that these experiments would reveal.” The Seven:

1) Spilt up twins after the moment of birth–and then control every aspect of their environments. This would benefit psychology enormously.

2) Remove brain cells from a live subject to analyze which genes are switched on and are off.

3) Insert a tracking agent into a human embryo to monitor its development. (Discover how a tiny clump of cells transforms into a fully formed human being.)

4) Use beams of light to control the activity of brain cells in conscious human beings. (This would involve an open-skull session with focused beams into brain tissue to see how you respond…)

5) Switch the embryos of obese women with those of thin women. (Is obesity genetic or epigenetic?)

6) Test each new chemical on a wide range of human volunteers before it comes on the market. (Better than mice…)

7) Cross-breed a human with a chimpanzee. “Its outcome would take biologists deep into the origin of the species we care about most: ourselves. Let’s just hope we can find a less disturbing route to get there.”

… The mere contemplation of which is but a net result of the depraved mind of man!
