Witch Conducts a Pagan Ceremony at a Catholic Church

A witch who went to jail for dragging a policeman 190m with her car has hijacked a wedding ceremony being performed by the reverend Father Bob Maguire.

The Herald Sun:

Father Maguire said he felt like the “devil took over me” when Eilish De Avalon conducted a Pagan Handfasting Ceremony at a Brighton Catholic church.

Father Maguire said he had warned the woman to tone back her scripts for the January 7 wedding but was “taken for a ride” on the day.

Ms Avalon, who was jailed for two months last June after pleading guilty to recklessly causing serious injury, dangerous driving, driving while suspended and using a mobile phone while driving, yesterday confirmed to the Herald Sun it was the first time she had performed the ceremony in a church, but declined to speak further.

Handfasting ceremonies are performed for same-sex couples, opposite gender couples and for multiple partners.

The bride and groom’s hands are tied during the ceremony and vows are usually taken for a year and a day.

At the end of some services, the couple jump over a broomstick.

Father Maguire said he was fuming about the ceremony conducted after his official religious ceremony at St James Church Brighton.

He was also further angered that Ms De Avalon, 40, posted on Facebook: “History in the making this morning in when I conduct a Pagan Handfasting Ceremony in a Catholic church with the support of Fr Bob.”

Fr Maguire said: “She is using me as an endorsement to blow her own trumpet. She took an opportunistic advantage of the parish.

“I was taken for a ride and blindsided. Once in the saddle she took over the place. It was like the devil got a hold of me.

“I’ve never had an experience like that in my 50 years (with the church).”

Bishop Les Tomlinson, Vicar-General of the Archdiocese of Melbourne, said the matter would be looked into and described the service as “peculiar” and regrettable.

“Such a person is not welcomed in the Catholic Church to interfere with liturgy,” he said…

Which is why Fr Bob should have stopped it.  I suppose his facial expression in the above photo with the witch at his side says it all. If it was me I would have taken the broomstick and swept her out the door. Alternatively, I would have simply refused to perform the ceremony. Let the witch do it, at a coven somewhere…

Neopaganism in a Church?! I’ve never heard of such nonsense (unless you’re Episcopalian of course)…

Witches Planning to Cast a Spell on Tim Tebow

FoxNews reports:

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady may not need the help, but some witches are planning to cast a spell to put an end to Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow’s miraculous season.

Witches Lorelei and Lori Bruno were scheduled to hold a seance at noon today – Friday the 13th – at Haven Crow Corner in Salem, Mass. to fix a win for the Pats.

“I’m going to raise the energy of the universe and send out all the good mojo,” Lorelei told the Boston Herald. “Lori will call in the Angels.”

The good witches won’t hex Tebow, as it’s “not their way,” but plan on setting up an alter with a hand-sewn Brady puppet and mojo bags filled with herbs and stones for every Patriots team member…

Read the rest here.

#Tebow – it is hard to stand for Jesus in a wicked, fallen world!

The LORD will keep you from all harm — he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore – Psalm 121:7-8

And that goes for all who place their faith and trust in Him!

Witches are Real

Via Fr Dwight Longenecker:

They don’t fly on broomsticks or have green skin, ( although come to think of it one witch I knew did have a sick green-ness about the gills, but I think that’s because he was a drunk) but they do cast spells and put curses on people and they do worship Satan, and don’t be deceived by the ‘white magic’ lark. There’s no such thing. All magic is black magic because of the philosophy behind it: those involved in witchcraft seek power, and anybody who seeks power for it’s own sake is bad.

Think of all the wicked people who justify their quest for power by saying it is for a good cause. Almost all evil in the world is caused by people who think they’re doing it for a good cause. Not just Darth Vader. Think of the Nazis who really believed the concentration camps were necessary in order to bring about a master race…see what I mean?

So witches, wicca, witchcraft–all that stuff. Yes, it’s real.

Furthermore, if you invite diabolical powers into your life. Don’t be surprised if they show up, and don’t be surprised if, once you’ve opened Pandora’s box you can’t get the lid back on. Remember in all the fun that the purpose of Hallowe’en is to scare the spooks away–not invite them in. Dressing up as monsters has the same purpose as putting gargoyles on cathedrals–you’re supposed to be scarier than the devil in order to give him the creeps and send him running. So when you carve a jack o’lantern make him scary as you can, but say a prayer as you put him out that he might keep away the real monsters of the night, and if you dress as a ghoul or a ghost or a witch or a warlock remember that you are doing so to creep them out and say a prayer of deliverance from all the dark forces of the world.

And if you come across anyone who takes witchcraft seriously tell them politely that if they summon the devil he will probably come, and that messing with the occult is the spiritual equivalent of an eight year old kid taking a five gallon can of gas into a fireworks warehouse then playing with matches.

Tokoloshe-Battling Priest Loses Appeal

Okay, if you must know, a Tokoloshe is an (mythic) evil, dwarf-like water sprite. They are considered to be very mischievous indeed.

So here’s some news from our neigbouring state (and by that I mean country for our American readers)…

An attempt to appeal against a High Court judgement that confirmed his excommunication from the Roman Catholic Church over witchcraft allegations has ended in failure for former tokoloshe-battling priest Gert Petrus.

At every turn throughout his litigation with the Archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Namibia, Father Petrus has failed to comply with court rules, Acting Judge of Appeal Kate O’Regan comments in the Supreme Court judgement in which an appeal by Petrus was struck from the court roll yesterday.

Judge O’Regan, with Judge of Appeal Sylvester Mainga and Acting Judge of Appeal Pius Langa agreeing with her, ordered that Petrus’s application for condonation for his late filing of an appeal to the Supreme Court was refused, his appeal was struck from the roll, and that he has to pay the legal costs of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese.

Petrus’s rift with his church’s leadership started in October and November 2004, when he claimed to have been the target of “witchcraft attacks” on himself.

After he had called on the special skills of Zimbabwean exorcists, an invisible demon was found in his parish residence, Petrus has claimed. The demon became visible after some salt water had been sprinkled over it, and he then had it destroyed by having it thrown into a fire, Petrus claimed.

The Church accused Petrus, who was ordained as a priest in 1986 and had been a parish priest in Khomasdal since 1993, of believing he had been bewitched by certain of his parishioners.

According to Petrus, three “objects of witchcraft” were “caught” on the premises of his church, St Mary’s Help of Christians Parish in Khomasdal, between October 28 and November 24 2004. When he then acted to have these forces of evil expelled from the church premises, he was trying to act against witchcraft, rather than participating in it, Petrus has stated.

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese did not take kindly to the priest’s battle against evil, and informed him in a letter dated November 25 2004 that he had, through involvement “in the practice related to witchcraft”, excommunicated himself from the church…

There’s more here.

Perhaps he should have just left these little critters alone:
