Bishop Timothy Dudley-Smith has complied a book the best sayings of Doctor Stott. In it you will see how he was true to authentic Anglicanism, condemning the real presence, the sacrifice of the Mass, baptismal regeneration and invocation of saints and prayers for the dead.
He was loyal to the Protestant roots of Anglicanism and his whole understanding of it was the antithesis of Anglo-Catholicism, which he correctly showed to be a development of the nineteenth century, as compared to the old High Church tradition.
Amen, Stott was wholly classic Protestant evangelical Anglican! (RIP) Of course no perfection there theologically, however (in the man).
