Pope Francis Named TIME Person of the Year 2013

TIME:

He took the name of a humble saint and then called for a church of healing. The first non-European pope in 1,200 years is poised to transform a place that measures change by the century…

Managing editor Nancy Gibbs goes on to says Pope Francis has taken

the papacy out of the palace and into the streets…

The whole article is here.

Vatican spokesman

Father Federico Lombardi told TODAY in a statement that “the Holy Father is not looking to become famous or to receive honors. But if the choice of Person of Year helps spread the message of the gospel — a message of God’s love for everyone — he will certainly be happy about that.”

Just as well, he beat Miley Cyrus.

  1. Hi mate, good to hear from you once again! But to lead with this story, of the Jesuit pope, who “does things his way”, ugh… Talk about “private judgment”! Biblically & theologically, this guy is a nightmare! But then, I am Reformational & Reformed! (But ya knew that! 😉 ) Best blessings for you and your this Christmas!

PS…I am thinking that this pope just might be the last! Who knows? The Church, the whole Church.. is always standing before the Eschatological-End! But we could just be that generation that will see the greatest End!? (With Modern Israel right in our face, note, Zech. 13: 8-9 with chapter 14!) Btw see too, the Association of Hebrew Catholics, they too are seeing this time of great Gentile Apostasy, and perhaps the near Coming of Christ! Come Lord Jesus!
